Itinerary
This tour is scheduled only for people with cycling experience. The descent is strong and technical. It is advisable to do it with appropriate equipment, which we will provide. The tour offers you a lot of fun and a pleasant view of the mountains and the city of Cusco.
Biking Yuncaypata Inka Carcel (Circuito de Wakas Inkas)
This tour is scheduled only for people with experience in cycling, the descend is strong and technical, it should be done with proper equipment which we will provide you. Along the impressive route , we will see beautiful sceneries of Cusco.
For this tour we will pick you up from your hotel to carry you at PUKAPUKARA (Inca archaeological site), after a brief visit, we will take the bridle path, passing through dark and beautiful forests to reach the village of Yuncaypata, after a short break, we will continue to another point of interest, while we enjoying the natural landscape, including streams and forests to reach the archaeological site of INKILTAMBO (inkacarcel), then a brief visit to the arqueological site, we will following the path to reach the pre-Inca archaeological site of Choquequirao, beautiful place located between a small valley in the border line between Cusco and Apurimac regions.
This arqueological monument contains terraces , fountains and “a beautiful astronomical observatory”. After we will continue descend until to arrive to RUMIWASI, the tour ends in the district of San Sebastian where our personal will pick you up to go at hotel. If you prefer, You can go by bike until the main square of the city.
The Route
The adventure begins in Biking Yuncaypata, a quaint village surrounded by lush greenery and the towering peaks of the Andes. Cyclists will pedal through rugged terrain, ascending and descending hills, as they approach the archaeological site. Chuquiquirao reveals its awe-inspiring terraces, plazas, and ceremonial platforms, providing a glimpse into the advanced engineering and architectural prowess of the ancient Incas.
Riding onward to Rumiwasi, cyclists encounter a mystical atmosphere as they traverse ancient paths. Rumiwasi, meaning “stone house” in Quechua, showcases impressive stone structures and offers a serene setting amidst the Andean highlands. The site is a testament to the Inca’s mastery of stone craftsmanship and their ability to seamlessly integrate structures with the natural landscape.
